With the summer weather coming upon us, outdoor events are the place to be. Whether you live in a small town or a teeming city, check out your local newspaper for unique events happening in your neighborhood this holiday. You’ll be in for a treat when you stumble upon an activity you wouldn’t normally seek out, like a free concert or a street fair or an outdoor movie screening!
Get-Together with Friends for a Cookout
A day-off is a cause for celebration, and who better to celebrate with than your friends? Organize a get-together with the friends who stayed in town for the weekend, and have everyone pitch in an item for a cookout. A barbecue is always a crowd favorite, and if you don’t have a grill at home, just visit a local park to use a community grill!
Give Back and Volunteer
It’s always a good idea to volunteer, and during a holiday that serves to remind us of those who have made sacrifices for the greater good, it only seems fitting to do the same. Whether its pitching in at a soup kitchen, making care packages for those in need, or contributing to a local Memorial Day event, there’s plenty of fun and rewarding ways to give back on Memorial Day.
