If this recent steamy GQ cover story isn’t extreme motivation, we’re not sure what is! When GQ revealed “The two fittest folks on the planet: Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Victoria’s Secret supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio – were no-brainers for [their] (shirtless, kick-ass) cover!” It definitely had us feeling a little guilty… Taking the time out of your day to exercise is easier said than done. Sure, you want to squeeze in a 30-minute workout, but that 30 minutes doesn’t include the time it takes to drive to the gym, do the workout, and make yourself look presentable post-workout for anything you have going on the rest of the day.
As a model, world traveler, and mother of two, our Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio has the concept of working out on-the-go nailed down. In between shoots, bonding with her family, and runway shows, Ale tries to incorporate fitness into practically anything she’s doing! So, no gym? No problem. Check out these 4 ways to burn off your lunch without stepping foot inside a gym! You might be surprised as to how little you have to do to make a change.
Don’t be lazy. Although it’s easy to walk up to the elevator doors, press the button, and let the mechanics do the work, you can easily burn off calories by taking the stairs. To start yourself off, take the stairs instead of the elevator when you’re on your way down. Then, once you’ve grown accustomed to these small bits of exercise, occasionally ditch the elevator on your way up. Soon you’ll be taking the stairs EVERY time!
Pacing matters. You might not think much of it, but pacing can greatly increase your amount of steps per day! Next time you’re on a long phone call, get up out of your chair and pace from one end of the room to the other. After a few minutes, you won’t even realize what you’re doing!
Only lazy people take shortcuts. We’ve all been there — We drive around for 15 minutes trying to find a parking spot that is as close to our destination as possible. But, have you ever considered parking in one of the farthest spots and getting a bit of exercise in? It might not seem like much, but it adds up over time!
Stay active. Although it’s easy to sit at home on the couch and relax on the weekends, Ale loves being active, especially when she’s with her kids! Instead of lounging around, try and incorporate an activity into your daily routine. A walk to the park, run on the beach, or an outdoor yoga session are all good options!
Hi, Ale! I love your blog. Another day I had a dream that I was your family’s Au Pair. I woke up happy 🙂 Just a dream. Have a grand day!
