It’s no surprise that the Victoria’s Secret angels are some of the world’s most beautiful and stunning women. The VS Fashion Show is watched by millions around the world and it’s coined the hottest television show on earth. Naturally, we look to our girl Alessandra Ambrosio for advice when it comes to anything beauty, fitness, and fashion! So how does Ale stay so flawless all the time? It starts with skincare. Keep reading to find out which daily practices you should be living by.
You Are What You Eat: Healthy skincare starts from within. When you have a night loading up on junk food, the result can be evident on your appearance, causing you to look bloated, dehydrated and too much sugar can cause acne breakouts. Ale’s perfect breakfast is an avocado with a freshly squeezed juice, a big cup of coffee, and boiled or fried eggs lightly browned with coconut oil. Eggs not only provide a good source of protein but coconut oil as you know does wonders and avocados are a great source of biotin, and can also help to prevent dry skin and brittle hair and nails!
Stay Hydrated: Hydration is number one. Just like you need water to replenish yourself, your skin is the same way. Water keeps your skin looking looking fresh and recharged. Especially after a night out of drinking, make sure to drink a lot of water to flush out all of the toxins.
Go Makeup Free: Always, always, always remove your make up before you sleep! Wearing makeup while working out is also a sure fire way to clog your pores. Give your skin time to breathe. Due to her job, Ale often wears layers of makeup so on her days off, she prefers to go natural. Ale’s skincare routine is simple but effective, she’s uses a cleanser nightly then an anti-aging serum with vitamin C to boost collagen, fade sun and age spots, and improve skin firming, brightening for a fresher, more revitalized youthful complexion.
Wear SPF: You’ve heard it time and time again but SPF is crucial to your skincare. Wear it daily to protect yourself from the sun’s harmful rays. Without SPF, your skin is prone to age spots, uneven skin tone and wrinkles. Adding this small step to your daily routine will benefit you greatly in the long run; rather than trying to reverse the damages that the UV rays have caused.
Rest Up: Ale’s lifestyle has her constantly jet-setting around the world, and while traveling is fun, we all know that the airplane can take a toll on not only your mental state but your skin as well. Bring a hydrating mist or sheet mask for overnight flights to give your skin a boost of hydration and make sure to get in some sleep. When you’re not traveling, 6-8 hours a night is ideal. Sleeping reduces facial puffiness and gives your skin time to rest and rejuvenate.
Take a Bath: Relax your mind and body all at once – Every time Ale gets off a plane, home or not home, she takes a bath. Epsom salts, which are super-rich in magnesium, and aromatherapy oils are key to turn any bath into a little spa.
Moisturize: Hot water can dry out your skin so after a bath or cleansing your face, use a moisturizer to lock the moisture back in your skin. They say your hands and neck can be an indicator of age so don’t forget to moisturize these areas as well!
