The nail art craze is simmering down, but a simple, polished manicure never goes out of style. But, once in a while, nail art can still be a ton of fun! Alessandra’s recent Brazil nails received quite the attention as she expressed her enthusiasm for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Whether it’s on the red carpet or model-off-duty, Ale’s nails are always polished to perfection. See a few of our favorite looks and how to recreate them below!

- NCLA Nail Polish in Hollywood Hills Hot Number – $16.00 – BUY HERE
HOW-TO:
- Apply a base coat to protect your nails (Tip: deeper shades tend to stain the nail bed, so be sure to apply a generous amount!) Brush it over the entire nail in even strokes.
- After the base coat has dried, apply the black nail polish in two thin coats. Wait to dry.
- Brush on the glitter flakes on the front tip of every nail, or only on a selected few for accent nails.
- After nails are completely dry, seal in the colors with a generous layer of top coat. Wait to dry, then clean off any excess edges.

- Yves Saint Laurent La Laque Couture in Bronze Aztec – $27.00 – BUY HERE
- Essie in Carnival – $8.50 – BUY HERE
HOW-TO:
- Apply a base coat. Brush it over the entire nail in even strokes.
- After the base coat has dried, apply the sandy taupe nail polish in two thin coats. Wait to dry.
- To create the ombré effect, pour a decent amount of the colors (1, 2, 3) next to each other on a paper plate or sheet of wax paper immediately next to each other with the edges touching.
- Use a toothpick to swirl the colors together where the edges touch.
* The gradient effect will be determined by how wide the area of graduation is between the two puddles of polish. For a sharper contrast, only blend a small amount of the colors together. For a stronger gradient, blend a larger amount of the edge color. - Dip the tip of a small makeup sponge in the graduated polish. Smooth this color over the tip of your nail.
- Apply the contrasting color in several layers. Each time, stop short of the point at which the previous layer ended. This will create a gradient effect along the nail, with the darkest spot being the very tip.
- After nails are completely dry, seal in the colors with a generous layer of top coat. Wait to dry, then clean off any excess edges.
And how adorable is Anja’s personal style?! Even at such as young age, she knows how to have fun and express her love of fashion and beauty.
