Bangs, Bangs, Bangs!
Its 2017! The Year of You, the year of glow up, the year you’re going to be your best you yet. But as the year quickly slips by and Spring comes upon us, the bubbling feeling of your resolution has already begun to fade away, and you can feel yourself falling back into some of those old 2016 habits. What better way to re-surge that New-Year-New-You confidence than a chic update to your haircut? Back in 2015 when hairstylist Frankie Foye chopped our Victoria’s Secret angel’s long locks, social media went wild; and now they’ve done it again – and bangs are the way to go! Alessandra Ambrosio certainly has rocked every type of bang out there, but we’ve broken down the best bangs for your face so 2017-you can rock bangs too.
Bangs for Every Type of Face
If you have a Square Shape…
TRY: Long, feathered bangs that just graze the lash line
WHY WE LOVE THEM: This cut gives a particularly romantic touch to a square face by offsetting a sharper jawline. Ask your stylist for feathery center strands and to leave the pieces on the sides heavier to prevent your eyes from being hooded.
If you have a Round Shape…
TRY: Long, wispy strands that blend into your hair
WHY WE LOVE THEM: A longer, piece-y fringe that sweeps away from the face complements the roundness of your face shape as opposed to a sharper cut that will draw attention to that softness. An added bonus: this cut can be worn centered or side-swept, giving you even more versatility with your new do! Just be sure to ask your stylist to keep the cut piece-y so you can achieve multiple looks with styling.

If you have a Heart Shape…
TRY: a partial bang that doesn’t fully cover the forehead
WHY WE LOVE THEM: Bangs that create an upside-down V create a fun, peekaboo effect on the face, which simultaneously balances out the top-heavy shape of a heart face. Your stylist should cut it so that the shortest pieces fall on the brow line and the longest should hit at the top of your cheekbones.
If you have an Oval Shape…
TRY: a fuller fringe that hits below the brow line
WHY WE LOVE THEM: An oval face already has a natural balance, making it the perfect shape to go for something bold. Fuller bangs make a statement on their own, and pair beautifully with a lob or a polished updo. Ask your stylist for a straight blunt cut for something even more bold, or for feathered pieces to play it safe.
