It’s no secret that the Victoria’s Secret models have their fitness and nutrition plans perfected. If you ask our Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio about what it takes to look as lean as she does on the runway, she would agree that it takes a year-long effort to stay in such incredible shape (especially for a mommy of two!).
For the rest of us, being healthy during the summer months is a breeze because we know we are going to wear a bikini at one point or another. The pre-summer months are also a motivating time, as we prepare our bikini bods for summer, but there is almost always a gray area between November and February where our fitness routines go into hibernation for the winter.
It isn’t that you don’t want to work out, but why put the effort in when your figure is going to be hidden under layers and layers clothes? Well, the hard truth is that summer bikini bodies are made during winter! In case your health enthusiasm is lacking, take these tips from Alessandra on how to stay motivated during bikini off-season!
- Go green. The holidays are a busy time of the year, which means we are constantly on-the-go! With all of the errands, shopping, and last minute traveling we do, it is easy to swing by a fast food restaurant for a quick bite to eat… DON’T. Instead, Ale loves grabbing a green juice when she doesn’t have time for a proper meal. It’s refreshing, rejuvenating, and full of yummy nutrients!
- Don’t forget the basics. With stress levels at an all-time high, don’t forget to treat your body! When Alessandra is feeling overwhelmed, nothing calms her down more than meditation, stretching, and yoga. It is a mini-vacation for the mind, body, and soul!
- Start a cleanse. The holidays = tons of delicious food! After feasting on a scrumptious holiday meal, consider doing a cleanse! Not only is it a good way to detox, but it will also rid your body of the heaviness we all feel after eating a large meal.
- Be balanced, stay active! It’s incredibly important for Ale to feel good in her own skin. To do so, she always tries to incorporate balancing activities into her daily routines! Although it is tempting to sit on the couch and watch Netflix all day, the fresh air will have a calming affect on your body!
